   सुधारवादी मुसलमानों को अपने मध्यकालीन पूर्वजों से अच्छा करना होगा और अपनी व्याख्या धर्मग्रंथों और युगानुकूल संवेदना के संदर्भ में करनी होगा। यदि मुसलमान अपने मजहब को आधुनिक बनाना चाहते हैं तो उन्हें गुलामी, ब्याज , महिलाओं के साथ व्यवहार , इस्लाम को छोडने के अधिकार , कानूनी प्रक्रिया सहित अन्य मामलों में अपने साथी एकेश्वरवादियों का आचरण पालन करना होगा। जब एक सुधरा हुआ आधुनिक इस्लाम विकसित होगा तो यह महिलाओं के साथ असमानता का अधिकार , धिम्मी स्तर , जिहाद , आत्मघाती आतंकवाद सहित विवाहेतर सम्बन्धों के लिये मृत्युदंड , पारिवारिक सम्मान के लिये घात , ईशनिंदा और धर्म छोडने जैसे विषय समाप्त कर देगा।
